Aldeia da Pedralva, a rural village in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, which was once inhabited by 100 people, has begun a painful process of desertification over the last 25 years.
In 2006, when we found this village, it had only 9 original inhabitants, and a group of around 50 houses in an advanced state of ruin. Only nine of these houses met minimum conditions for habitability.
