For years, it was just another forgotten Algarve village on the map. Without much prominence on tourist itineraries, and far from the crowds that flock to the Algarve in the summer months, the small cluster of houses didn't seem to have a promising future. Isolated, with quiet streets and dilapidated structures, it represented yet another case of typical depopulation in the Algarve's interior.
